Momocon 2018: My Experience

Those who have had read my blog pretty frequently know this past weekend was my first ever Momocon.  Not only was it my first Momocon, I was lucky enough to be part of the press for the event.

I am an avid convention goer and Convention blogger and have been to a bunch of different cons all over the US (including Dragon*Con, Days of the Dead and Walker Stalker Con) over the past 15 years, however I have to say Momocon is one of my favorites now!

The crowds were respectful, the panels were amusing, the guests were amazing and the con was perfect as far as lay out – I didn’t feel like I was squished into too small of an area with so many people, yet there was enough of a crowd to still give me the feel of a Con.

One thing that I really love about Momocon is unlike most of the bigger conventions, the autograph section of the con is in the dealer room.  I love that because it was all there and easy to access without having to run all over the place if there was a celebrity you wanted to get an autograph from.

Unfortunately the one autograph I wanted to get was from Josh Keaton (voice of Voltron from Transformers, Young Hercules, voice of Spyro in the Outlanders series, and many, many others) and his tickets were gone by the time I was able to get to the con and everyone rushed his general admission line as soon as it opened, so I was unable to get an autograph.  Hopefully he’ll come back again next year!

I do have one gripe about Momocon, however… And that’s that it’s not a 4 day con!  I don’t feel like I was able to efficiently cover the con with only the two days I was there (I was only able to attend Saturday and Sunday).  So, next year, I will be making a special effort to be there for all 3 days!

Thank you so much to the Momocon team for allowing me to be part of the press this year and I hope I can be a part of the press next year as well.
