Southern Fried Gaming Expo 2018: My Experience

This past weekend I had the absolute pleasure of going to my first Southern Fried Gaming Expo in Atlanta.  Not only was it my first time going, I was honored to be a part of the press.

I’m not going to lie – I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this Expo.  I knew there would be tons of games and such, but I was apprehensive because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get to a machine because there would be lines out the door.  Not only was I able to play, it blew my expectations out of the water.

There were so many different games.  Everything from classic pinball and arcade games, tabletop games, simulation games… they even had a section for board games.  Being a huge gamer I felt right at home and I love the type of people that were there.

Gamers are a different breed of people, I have been to past gaming events and they have been stuck up and very competitive.  This group of people at the Expo were not like that at all.

One thing I was impressed with was the amount of different things to do.  They had a lot of different vendors, and there was even a room where live wrestling matches would take place… Get this… There was a room dedicated just to Rock Band…

Another thing that was really cool is most of the machines on display were for sale as well.

So, needless to say, this was one of my favorite expos and I can’t wait to go back next year!  Thank you to everyone who made this possible this year.  Cant’ wait till next year, see you then!
