I Knew It
Date: December 3, 2002
I knew it was all just a lie
I knew I shouldn’t have given him the time
I fell for him hard
And again
Once more
He’s leaving with my heart
Right out that door
I really do love him
He’s just playing with my mind
If I could just turn back the hands of time
I’d go back to the day
That I met this guy
I’d try not to believe
His dreadful lies
I’d try not to fall
Head over heels
I’d try not to believe
What I feel is real
If I had known

What the outcome would be
I would have never taken
That giant leap
I would’ve sheltered my heart
For so much longer
I would’ve found a love
That felt so much stronger
Then again
I can’t go back
So what I’ll try not to do
Is backtrack
I made a mistake
I’ll forever regret
With a heart full of nothing
But bitter regret
I feel that feeling
Was rather dumb
But I guess
I really should’ve known
