For Clay

Once

I met a celebrity

Whom I thought I knew
Then again

I was wrong

He turned out to be rude
He didn’t give a crap

About his deeply devoted fans

He made me feel like I was below him

Not worthy of meeting this man
I tried to hold back the pain I felt inside
Then all at once

The tears started to flood my weary eyes
I looked up to him so much

Because he seemed so real
I thought he felt fame and money

Wasn’t that big of a deal
Then I met him

And found his personality out

For real
All the kindness and sweetness

It’s all an act

You see
As I told him

How much I adored him

He rolled his eyes at me
For a week or so after

I was depressed as I could be
But after that

The fury

Was catching up with me
After the pain left

The wound was plain to see
The afterglow of the first sting

Can sometimes still be seen
I idolized this guy

For more than a couple of years

The fear all celebrities were like this
Then I met one by the name of Aiken

He was everything within my wish
When he first walked into the room

I was full of nervousness

And fear
Is he true

Is that Clay

Am I really here
The line was moving pretty fast

As my heart was racing fast
Just four more people

Then my turn

I want this moment to last
Here it is that pivotal moment in life
Is he true

Is he real

Or is he another lie

My heart is pounding

My palms are sweaty

Here comes the moment of might
I have been waiting

Waiting

Trying

Trying

Clay was out of sight
I walked up to him he said, “Hello!”

He was so pure and so nice
Just goes to show

You never know what a celebrity

Is really like
Just like a book

Read into their eyes
And like a box of chocolates

You never know what you’ll find inside
