Break The Mold

Date: April 12, 2004

For Clay…

I know a celebrity

Who breaks the Pop Star mold
He’s not a cookie cutter image

And appeals to young and old
He has wire–rimmed glasses

And a certain geek appeal
He has pretty big ears

But at least we know he’s for real
I’m sick of seeing all these fake looking girls
Paying tons of money to get the body

Found ony in the “perfect” world
Why can’t they be happy

With the body they have
Be comfortable in their own skin

And thankful for what they have
When this guy busted onto the pop scene
He broke the mold

And the world shook

It belongs to a “Geek”
Selling triple platinum albums

He’s on the back of my door
He wiggled his way into millions of hearts

One being my own
To think this thing started with a silly T.V. show
A second chance

A second glace

On The Wild Card Show
This guys whole world changed

In a couple minutes

For sure
If it wasn’t for reality TV

We’d still be stuck in the perfect mold
I guess there’s one thing to say
Thank you for making my dreams come true
The dream of someone breaking this silly messed up world
And making us realizes there are real people in the spotlight

Even if most of them are lies
