Everything Else, Mysterious Ramblings

Mysterious Ramblings: Why Try?

With a society as focused on looks as we are, it was about time for someone to come to with a song like this. I think this song speaks volumes for young girls to be able to embrace themselves and love themselves for who they are, not what society wants them to be.

Everytime I hear this song, it stirs up emotions in myself of how I feel about myself, and how, up until recently, I have always strived to fit in, be something that I am not to make society accept me. Then, one day I woke up, looked in the mirror and said to myself, why try to fit in?

I am who I am. I’m loud and obnoxious. I fart a lot and like to make inappropriate jokes and comments.   I love tattoos, individuality, blogging, and saving money. I like lounging around in my pajamas, blasting Five Finger Death Punch, eating chocolate and spaghetti while my rats crawl across my shoulders and give me kisses on the lips. I never wear makeup, and I have a nose ring. I also am a loyal person, love playing with my niece, and, well, love being me.

Quite simply put, I am me.   I don’t feel like I have to try to be something I am not just to fit into your “perfect” society. I will never have a viral blog, or a viral video, and my boobs will never be perfect, nor will my butt. I will always be a thick girl. But, I will always be me, and if I don’t accept me for who I am, how can I expect everyone else to accept me?

Thank you Colbie for releasing this song, and letting the whole world see you naked and stripped of any filters and makeup. You are beautiful, and such an inspiration!

I cried when I heard this song.

  2. I have heard this song many times but never actually paid attention to the message. Thank you so much for posting this. Thank you for being you. I love the person you, including your random farts and silly jokes! You are beautiful and I hope you truly know that. I could learn a few things from you, friend!

  3. I love this song and the message behind it! Too bad there isn’t more songs like this. I’m glad you posted a blog like this! More people should try thinking this way as well.
