Have you ever been to one of those restaurants where you just feel at home and it such a great environment that you just want to eat there again and again just for that reason?  Buca Di Beppo is one of those places for me.

With the family style restaurant and the welcome home atmosphere, with as little as one visit Buca will make you want to keep coming back for more.

Everytime you first enter Buca, they take you right through the kitchen.. that’s right… Right through the kitchen, where you can see first hand where your food is being prepared,.  They even went as far as to adding a dining table in the kitchen, where you can enjoy your dining experience right in the thick of all the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen.

As you take a tour of Buca, you will notice all the wonderful items on the well, and they also tell you about the Popes room – which is a room reserved for parties where you can actually dine with the Pope’s head right on your table!

Once we finally got seated and were deciding what to order, I couldn’t help but look over at this captivating picture of this woman.  Her eyes seemed to tell a whole story, whether it be about her star crossed lover who just left her, or if that’s just her natural expression, I couldn’t help but take a picture of this.

Before ordering the main course we started with a couple appetizers.  We got the mixed green salad and the Fried Mozzarella (small one).

Mixed Green Salad:

This salad was just as good as it looks.  It has a very nice mix of greens, olives, pepperchinis, onion and wonderful housemade dressing all on a bed of beautiful mixed greens.

After we finished our salad we indulged in the beautiful Fried Mozzarella:

Even with the small order of these guys, there was more than enough to feed our family of four.  Perhaps one of my favorite dishes ever, these fried mozzarella bits don’t fail me!  they are full of flavor, and bigger then they look.

We ordered two main courses as well, Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken, and we also got a side of Italian Sausage.

These signature half pound meatballs are seriously some of the best I have ever had!  One would assume when you cut into a meatball that big there is bound to be traces of pink meat, however when I cut into mine, all I found inside was a juicy, mouth watering mix of herbs and spices that made me want to come back for more!

Prosciutto stuffed chicken:

I‘m not going to lie – when I first saw that this chicken came in a pesto sauce, I was reluctant to pick it off the menu.  As I have never had a pest sauce before and the color kind of made me think it wasn’t going to be very good.  When I took the first bite of chicken with this robust pesto sauce, I fell head over taste buds in love with it!  To me it’s got a bit of an alfredo taste to it with a certain bazing I can’t quite put my finger on!

The last thing we ordered was this beautiful Italian Sausage.

While I am not a huge fan of Italian sausage, the rest of my crew seemed to be a huge fan.  It had a very strong Anise flavor blended with Italian seasoning, if you are a fan of Italian you will be smitten by this!
