Turbo10Collage

Phew, I’ve made it through the first week!  I have heard the first week of Nutrisystem is the hardest, as your food is so limited.  With the flex meals and adding Power Fuels and Smart Carbs to my daily food intake, as well and snacks instead of shakes, I am looking forward to the next week.

The first week had its ups and downs, not going to sit here and tell you it was perfect, as that would be a lie.  Nothing in life is ever as you imagined it would be.  I thought this would be a lot harder than it is, knock on wood, I hope the remainder of this program is as simple as this part was.

I have been eating every 2-3 hours, 6-7 times a day. Here is what my food schedule looked like:

~ Nutrisystem Breakfast entrée within an hour of waking up

~ 2-3 hours later, Turboshake

~ 2-3 hours later, Nutrisystem lunch entrée provided, and at LEAST two servings of non-starchy veggies

~ 2-3 hours later, NutriCrush Shake

~ 2-3 hours later, Nutrisystem dinner entree with at least two more servings of non-starchy veggies

~ Snack of non-starchy veggies, if needed

Day 01

Day one: First day on Nutrisystem, I would call it a win. Breakfast was a double chocolate muffin, snack was a Turboshake, lunch was vegetarian chili and a bowl of mixed veggies, snack was a Nutrishake, and dinner was lasagna and a huge plate of asparagus.  I spiced up the asparagus with some spray butter, pepper and hot sauce and it was divine! The food tastes great that I’ve had so far. I am a little hungry still, however, I expected that from a diet program and if needed I can binge on veggies later.  They say the first week is the hardest out of the program because you are eating less food than the rest of the program because this week is a jump start week to weight loss.  I set up my Numi tracker today and my calorie count, before I eat any more vegetables, is 1,110.  For the amount of calories I am consuming, I feel like I got my calories worth.  Can’t wait to start seeing results!  I hope tomorrow’s food is just as good, if not better, than today’s food was.  Definitely impressed with the quality of the small pre packaged dinners so far.

Day 02

Day two: Second day on Nutrisystem, I would call it a win.  Breakfast was a cinnamon bun breakfast bar, snack was a Turboshake, lunch was cheese tortellini with a side of sweet chili carrots, snack was a Nutrishake, and dinner was a three cheese pizza with half a bag of steamed sugar snap peas.  Being a reviewer is all about being honest, and that I am going to be.  The pizza leaves a bit to be desired, as they are small and don’t come with enough sauce to make it worth it, however, throw some extra tomato sauce on there, which is included in the veggies and is unlimited, and it would taste better I think.  According to the Numi tracker, which did not have two of the items I scanned so I guessimated with the stuff that was on there, I am at 1,118 calories before any extra vegetables I had.  Not as impressed as yesterday, but I am definitely getting an idea of the program.  Love it so far, and will continue to push on!

Day 03

Day three: Day three of Nutrisystem with went off without a hitch.  I made some vegetable soup that I can eat with my meals, all made with extras and vegetables, so unlimited, yay!  Breakfast was a blueberry muffin, snack was a turboshake, lunch was a chocolate peanut butter lunch bar and some sugar snap peas, snack was a Nutrishake, and dinner was mushroom risotto and a bowl of vegetable soup.  Honestly thought the mushroom risotto was going to be bad, as I don’t like mushrooms, but it was great, actually.  Had a snack of a bowl of mixed greens with some homemade vinegar dressing compiled of stuff from my extras list.  Stayed right around 1300 calories today according to my Numi tracker. Definitely more positive than I was yesterday.  Starting to see results on the scale too.  Pushing on to another day, I got this!

Day 04

Day four: Day four on Nutrisystem was beyond a win.  The soup I made last night is even better today, and I love that I have no restrictions on how much of it I can eat.  I am finding out that I really like that Nutrisystem has all the meals planned out for you, and tells you what to add to each meal.  I think that has been my downfall in diets in the past… And this is really bringing into perspective portions!  Breakfast was a blueberry lemon baked bar, snack was a Turboshake, lunch was beans and rice, which honestly was not as good as other lunch entrees I’ve had, and a bowl of vegetable soup, snack was a Nutricrush shake, dinner was another vegetable lasagna, which was just as good as the first one I had, and a huge bowl of fresh mixed veggies with some homemade apple cider vinegar dressing.  One of the biggest adjustments for me during this journey will be the dressing situation.  I am an extra dressing, extra dips kind of lady and I am going to have to retrain my mind to know what a portion of dressing, dip, etc is and stick with it.  Weighed today and I am down 3.4 pounds, so I’m calling this a win so far.  Over the hump, and on the way back down on the other side.  I got this.

Day 05

Day five: Day five on Nutrisystem was a bit rough. We were out of the house the majority of the day, so I had to find a salad bar and load up on veggies for dinner. I added a bit of protein and used fat free dressing, but I missed my dinner and Nutrishake. Breakfast was a trail mix bar and lunch was a double chocolate caramel bar and a bowl of vegetable soup. Overall I did pretty good. Day 06

Day 06: Day six of Nutrisystem was another rough day. We went back out tonight and I had another huge salad. Looks like if I stick to the program tomorrow, which I plan on doing, as we have no place to go out where I won’t be able to get back to the house to eat, I will not lose the whole 10 pounds the first week, but close to it. For what it’s worth, I’m very proud of myself and feel very confident in adding foods on Monday. Tomorrow’s another day.

Day 07

Day 07: Day 7 on Nutrisystem was a success! Had to do things a bit differently today because we were all over the place again, as we are almost every weekend, but I stuck right to the plan and finished out my Turbo10 strong! I am pushing water because I know I have not had as much water as I do during the week as I did this weekend. Picked up some hot sauce and some V8 and am going to start drinking that with meals since it’s on the list of unlimited foods for the duration of the program. I made it through the bare bones Turbo10 program and this makes me very happy and very motivated and anxious to see how I do with all of the food I get to add. I will not be keeping up with these daily pictures like I have been, I will post two or three a week with the new foods I’m adding so I don’t flood your feeds with stuff you’ve seen over and over again. Official weigh in is tomorrow morning, along with a progressive picture. I can feel it in my body and in my pants, so to say, that this program is eating away at the fat in my body. Anxious to start adding other foods tomorrow. Let’s do it.

Now that the Turbo 10 part of Nutrisystem is over, time to start adding Power Fuels, Smart Carbs, and snacks, and taking away my delicious shakes, so I can only see this getting easier to do.  I think I can actually stick to something that has everything laid out for me I have to eat.  This is certainly looking to be one of the better diet plans I have tried.

Starting weight: 291.8

Current Weight: 285.2

Total Weight Loss: 6.6

See you guys next week for another Nutrisystem update!
