Basically having a fairy garden is fun and can get your creativity movin – just watching your little garden grow and develop into a wonderful, whimsical place of comfort, knowing you did that!

One evening me and my daughter who is 9, decided to crack it open and see what happens. We did it inside; which is great! I love how you get everything you need in the box – soil, seeds and accessories.

The soil comes in 3 big tablets, that you dissolve in water. This takes about 30 minutes to completely dissolve; but during this time you can put together your pot and have it all ready to go.

Adding the soil was pretty simple; we used our hands. If you’re gonna do it right, get your hands dirty! You’d think this would make a mess, but if your careful, the mess will be minor and spilled soil was very easy to vacuum up.

After you get your soil in the pot, I suggest adding the accessories to the soil before planting the seeds.

My daughter decided to just put the seeds where ever she wanted, so it’s all different throughout the fairy garden. The seeds are fast growing seeds, that do not need much care; which is good. This time of year having a seedling in the house can be tough, but these seeds are great. We actually had seedlings pop up after two days of planting the seeds. I was shocked. The seeds are now really big, just waiting on “blooms”.

Another cool thing about this live toy, is watering the pot. There is a mushroom on top that has holes in it; this is where you pour the water in and water comes out of the holes to the top part of the garden. Then there is another part on top that you can pour water in and that part waters the bottom half. This is a great idea, because little sprouts can drown in too much water and these holes gives the soil enough water to keep your spouts growing.

My kids and I do a lot of crafts together and this, I’m tellin ya, this toy was fun and not overwhelming – it was a very calming experience. It also teaches patience and I love seeing my children’s faces when they check the sprouts and how big they keep getting. It also teaches them how to care for plants.
