The Encounter
Nick was at the same event where I met Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick from NSYNC, as well as AJ McLean from Backstreet Boys. While I have always been a very ravenous NSYNC fan, Backstreet Boys have not slipped off my radar in the least. After meeting Nick & AJ, I am more of a fan than ever before.
The first time I met Nick was actually a very interesting encounter. I was standing there talking to Chris, and all of the sudden Nick comes up, tells Chris hi and just starts talking to him. I look at my boyfriend, standing next to me the whole time, in disbelief that we are witnessing a member of NSYNC and a member of Backstreet Boys actually be civil to each other. After a few minutes, Joey came over and joined the conversation. So I just stepped back, and tried to let my brain fully process what was taking place. The ticket I ended up purchasing for Fandomfest was the all access VIP Pop Idol pass. There was a HUGE mix up with the VIP party….. When I purchased my ticket I was told at the Fandom Pop Idol level ($500) there would be a VIP party, Concert, and Meet N Greet – that’s how they listed it under the tickets. Anyhow none of the guys knew about the concert, there was a ticket that was a step below ours (VIP Pass) and they were all allowed in the Fan Idol VIP stuff.
And to make matters worse, the boys were not told they were going to perform until 2 hours before the party.
So, long story short, the official performance didn’t happen, however Nick did come in at the beginning of the party, talk to every single person in there one on one, take pictures with them and signed autographs. It was really nice to see a celebrity do that and not just rush through fans, or even worse, not even show up to the party.
Although Nick did leave the party earlier than expected, he took care of the fans before he left. The time I spent talking and interacting with Nick was nice and I hope I get a chance in the future to party with him full force.
Wow, that sounds like an amazing time, although you were definitely shortchanged with the concert. Why do so many concert venues cheat the high-paying ticket fans like that? There was another fiasco with premium ticket holders of a Justin Bieber concert, where promises made weren’t delivered.
It wasn’t their fault at all – they didn’t even know they had a scheduled a concert for the VIP holders they thought it was going to be like a Q&A session… Bieber is just a douche lol let’s be honest here.
