Encounter
Let’s be real raw and real honest here – the day I met Ashton Kutcher did not start out as a good day. I went to the Challenge for the Children event for a different person. While that person was not pleasant and actually made my fangirl heart break, little did I know that by the end of the day my heart would be full of joy and thankfulness for celebrities who care about their fans.

After a few hours at this event trying to get someone else’s attention at the event, I walked over the side of the banister, and started yelling at Ashton in the distance. Noticing the person I was originally trying to get an autograph from blow past me without even as much as a hello to his fan (not surprised after the way I had been treated earlier), Ashton turned, looked at me, turned back around to leave, turned back around, came over, and signed an autograph for me and chatted for a few minutes.
At that point I was elated to find a celebrity who actually cares about fans. After he signed my autograph, I asked him ‘If it’s okay, I’d love to get a picture with you.’ He puts his hands on my shoulder and says “Yeah, sure, whatever you want.”
I believe that he genuinely meant that statement, as shortly after our meeting I saw him take the jersey off his back and give it to a young kid, while this other person couldn’t even take the time to sign an autograph for a fan.
That minute and a half Ashton took to talk to me, I just wish he knew how much it meant to me. It was nice to walk away from this experience knowing there are genuine celebrities out there and that not all of them blow fans off. Just goes to show you how much a simple handshake can change someone’s thoughts about everything.
