Allen Brothers Steak Company Review

Tis the season for yummy get togethers and ham!  When I was offered a ham and some bacon from Allen Brothers, I was so excited when it showed up.

This Mangalista Ham is above par, let me tell you that!  I love that it was fully cooked and all we had to do was just pop it in the oven to heat up.  The meat was so tender and juicy it just fell apart when we were slicing it.  It was so juicy and flavorful, I had to go in for a second helping.

“Often called the Kobe of pork, Mangalitsa hams have a ring of flavorful fat that fully encases the tender meat, amplifying the full flavor and rich mouthfeel. Our easy-to-slice boneless whole ham is lightly smoked and cured without nitrites. Just heat and serve, or add your own glaze for a more elegant presentation. Ships frozen, please allow 2-4 days thawing time in refrigerator.”

Speaking of yummy, they also sent me 3 pounds of their Mangalitsa Bacon and this was literally the best bacon I have ever eaten, hands down.  There was the perfect amount of salt and when cooked in the oven to the perfect crispiness made an amazing BLT and breakfast sandwiches.

“Mangalitsa is the prized “royal” pork, originally bred for Archduke Joseph of Hungary in the 1830s.
